  • Detachments
    Armies can be comprised of 4 Detachments of any type.
    However Large Detachments are considered C1
  • Large Detachments
    The detachments below are treated as Large Detachments. If a Detachment is listed in a source (eg. Codex, Campaign, etc.) and that source is listed in the Faction’s Page in this document, then it is a valid detachment. As such if it is not listed below then it is not considered a Large Detachment
  • Formations and Special Detachments
    Some formations and special detachments (eg. Craftworld Warhost) will be assigned a number of credits. This may sometimes have a set of conditions for these credits. Regardless of whether a set of conditions are listed or not, this is always in addition to any costs for the units purchased that make up the Formation or Special Detachment.
  • Apoc or Non 40k Formations
    Some Formations are listed for Warhammer 40,000: Apocalypse, as Community Comp is written for Warhammer 40,000 these Formations or any other Formation or Detachment that is not written for Warhammer 40,000 is not to be used. For example while the Purge Squadron Formation is listed in the Adepta Sororitas Codex, it is listed as an Apocalypse Datasheet and as such cannot be used.

Global Rules

Global rules apply to all armies regardless of codex. Several of these global rules manage the larger game strategies rather than individual unit strength and will have their own description. These strategies are defined by how the opponent has to combat your army and as you invest more points into one strategy your opponent's counter strategy is becomes increasingly strained which is why we have costed them in groups. Go through each of the rules in this section to ensure that you don't miss any that apply to your army

Warhammer 40,000 Supplement - Death from the Skies
  • Flyers and Super Heavy Flyers
    All Flyers are C2 even if they are not listed. Even different types of Flyers or Flyers purchased from different detachments, consider them cumulative together.
    (SG) Small Games pay 2 extra for each Flyer
  • Flying Monstrous Creatures and Flying Gargantuan Creatures
    All Flying Creatures(FCs) are C1 . Even different types of FCs or FCs purchased from different detachments, consider them cumulative together.
    (SG) Small Games pay 1 extra Credit for any FC
  • Super Heavies (SH) and Gargantuan Monstrous Creatures (GMC)
    Regardless of type or faction, all SH and GMCs are C1.
  • Fast Independent Characters
    Take the total number wounds on models that fulfil all of the following criteria then consult the table below
    • Has the Independent Character rule
    • Has a 2+ Armour or 2+ Invulnerable save
    • Has more than 1 wound
    • Has a Bike, Jetbike or Cavalry mount

    If you wish to access an Exalted Reward and take the Grimoire of True Names, you must pay the Grimoire of True Names cost as detailed on the Chaos Daemons page

    Add up the total number of Relentless, Slow and Purposeful (or similar rule) Grav Shots in your army from the following weapons
    • Non-Relentless but Scouting (or within Transport that can scout) Grav-Cannon with Grav Amp (3)
    • Regular Grav-Cannon with Grav Amp (2)
    • Relentless: Grav-Gun (3), Grav-Cannon (5) and Heavy Grav-Cannon (7) counting models with Grav Amps as 8 Shots instead of the usual number (do not include weapons with the Combi rule)

  • Death Stars
    Accounting for the allies matrix and all special rules, take the largest group of Independent Characters in your army that can join as a single unit and consult the table.

    Some Characters do not have as great an affect, as such you can have up to 3 of the following characters not count towards this rule. Note that these characters are only exempt if they do not have a 2+ Armour Save, 2+ Invulnerable Save, a Psychic Mastery Level, or can move 12" or more (eg. a Bike, Jump Pack, etc.)

    Memento-Mortispex Pay 2 CC
    Saint Curia's Autopurger Pay 1 CC if taken in an army containing Rad Grenades or Skitarii Vanguard
  • Voldus
    Pay 2 credits
  • Roboute Girlywang
    Pay 3 credits.

Psykers and Psychic Disciplines

If your army contains Psykers who wish to roll on any of the Psychic Disciplines below, then under the circumstances listed you must pay the appropriate credits, this must be marked on your army list. Any situations where a Psychic Power is not allowed, you must re-roll that power during selection in the same way they would if that Psyker already knew it.
In all cases below this cost is paid once per Discpline (regardless of the number of Psykers)

  • All Factions: Telpathy
    If any of your Psykers wish to have access to the Invisibility power then you must pay 8 Credits
  • All Factions: Biomancy
    If your army contains any Space Marine units with the Iron Hands Chapter Tactics, and you wish your Psykers who are Battle Brother Allies to these units to have access to the Endurance power then you must pay 1 Credit
  • Adeptus Astartes: Librarius Discipline
    If any of your Psykers wish to have access to the Veil of Time power then you must pay 8 Credits.
  • Adeptus Astartes: Fulmination Discipline
    If any of your Psykers wish to have access to the Electrodisplacement power then you must pay 8 Credits instead.
  • Adeptus Astartes: Geokinesis Discipline
    If any of your Psykers wish to have access to the Phase Form and Shifting Worldspace power then you must pay 8 Credits (paying the 8 Credits unlocks both powers).
  • Aeldari: Eldritch Storm
    If your army wishes to use the Warp Charge 4 Version of Eldritch Storm, pay 3 Credits

Non Standard Deployment

Stacking units that attack on turn 1, close into a vulnerable flank of an opponent’s deployment can easily overwhelm an army. There are many ways achieve this so we have combined them all on one table to provide a cost this combined strategy

  • Non Standard Deployment Points (NSD)
    Regardless of which Detachment or Faction they were purchased for, take the total number of models classified as NSD, add up their NSD Points (Listed in brackets) and consult the table below. Some units will only have a NSD Point under a set of conditions.

Armoured Vehicle Points

Vehicles take a specific kind of fire power to combat and this comes in limited supply. A greater volume of vehicles in an army regardless of their detachment puts pressure on the opponent’s ability to fight.
We have combined all vehicles into one table to reflect this

    Every Vehicle Currently legal in Community Comp is listed below with an Armoured Vehicle Point value. Do not include Vehicles with the Flyer type as these are covered by the Flyer Global Rule or Super Heavy as they are covered by the Super Heavy Global Rule.
    Some vehicles may have 2 Points Values, the first number is for the first Vehicle of that type and the second is for every one thereafter.

Fast Assault Units

An opponent can only kill so much in one turn so multiple fast moving, assault based units support one another because only some can be killed before the others launch assaults.
Even very different units can provide this support so we have combined them all on one table

Adeptus Astartes: Deathwatch

Deathwatch have the ability to mix and match units into Kill Teams and Formations, as such when we refer to a Deathwatch Unit, we are referring to any unit made up of Deathwatch models (eg. A unit of Veterans, a Kill Team or any other current or future method of mixing and matching units). Also remember that Independent Characters regardless of whether they are in a Kill Team or not are still counted for the Death Star Global Rule, just keep in mind what the largest unit of IC's can be
